In Social Media, one big factor you have to conquer is The Visibility Factor. What’s that? It’s staying visible so that people become familiar with you and start paying attention to you…and ultimately, hopefully liking you.
So what’s it take? In a word, interaction. But the question is how to accomplish this, and how to accomplish this within a reasonable amount of time per day – because you have other things to do right?
The answer is a strategy. Put together a daily strategy (or even every other day if you can’t find time daily) that allows you to spend time on your social networks, but even more, a strategy that not only does that but tells you ‘exactly what to do every day’. You can friend all day long and still have no one notice you or care what you post. You have to dig into the nooks and crannies and you have to take it to the next level of interaction.
The more time you can dedicate to your social networks, the better because the more time you spend interacting but I realize it’s just not feasible for everyone to do this. Some people are working full-time jobs while finding their way online. Some people are working from home but have their plates full of work, research and other endeavors. And that’s okay, I’d say an hour per day is a minimum time to spend on your networks but if you have a plan, you can still effectively implement a strategy to get noticed in the social sphere and grow your connections.
I’ve created an hour per day Visibility Strategy for you. Of course you can tweak it to best fit your needs but it will help you create a personal strategy for yourself and help you ensure you cover the various facets of social networking – there’s more to it than just posting and friending and sometimes we lose our time doing this or getting caught up with our buddies on our networks. If you have a plan that keeps you focused for at least an hour a day, you’ll be surprised at how many new connections you can make and how many new people will start to notice you.
