Tip on how to generate traffic with your blog posts

For some people this is a “duh” post but for others it will be a light bulb…I was one of those.

Of course there are a bunch of tactics to get traffic that you need to utilize but I was just in the middle of doing something when I remembered the days that I omitted keyword research for my blog posts and thought I would post this little tip for those that might not be doing it either.

When we make a blog post, we frequently just tag it with words that we think of off the top of our head that relate to it, but did you know that keyword research on a blog post is just as important as keyword research on a website? It is.

I figure since I consistently see people who don’t do proper research for their regular websites, there are probably plenty more who don’t do it for their individual blog posts.

Now you don’t have to do extensive research for your blog posts; just something simple like using Wordtracker’s Free Keyword Tool can increase your traffic. You can even take a peek over at the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Grab you a few relevant keywords – be sure you go for some of the longer tailed words that include your main keywords too. You can quickly do this before you publish your post and you will see the difference.

You’ll always get better results when you use search phrases that are actually being used instead of just ones that you “think” will be used.
