What’s all the Twitter about?
There’s a new service that lets you essentially create your own Twitter Group; it’s called Twittbot. You can let multiple people publish to one Twitter account and you can also make posts to multiple Twitter accounts - the things we can do with that!
Twitter has far exceeded our expectations of it and the different Twitter tools have only made it more resourceful and useful.
In searching for what other people had to say about this service just released (beta) at the beginning of December 08, I found this Twittbot review that’s pretty helpful.
Apparently they even plan on adding some other features which look like they’ll bring even more value.
Check it out Twitterers…and if you’re not a Twitterer, you better come out from under that rock and become one!
Update
In case you’re not sure what you can do with a Twittbot group page, let’s dig in just a little bit.
You can use it to create a central location for your company or group (of any type).
1) Let’s say you have a company, or several people working for, or with you. You can create a central place for each of the authorized people to post Tweets to. So you can each have your own personal profiles and/or a central page.
I recently implemented this for IAC Professsionals, a Virtual Assistant Firm. I believe there are approximately 40 or so contractors working with that firm; too many people for everyone to follow and each contractor uses their Twitter ID for their personal use too. So, we set up a central page for IAC Professionals as a whole and with Twittbot each authorized author (people within the firm) can post selected Tweets to the company profile. This
- gives clients who want to see, or stay up-to-date with IAC Professionals one spot to see the most important things rather than 40 different people’s Tweets within the firm or just 1 or 2 chosen people’s Tweets from within the firm - they can really see what’s going on with them as a whole
- allows each author to decide which posts they want to go to that page rather than having all of their Tweets go to it
- gives IAC Professionals exposure as a whole and allows them to point to that page in places where they post their Twitter link rather than only to 1 individual’s profile
2) Let’s say you have a specific topic or product. You can create a group page for that topic that you can either allow others to also post to, or retain posting privileges for just yourself and just send posts about that particular topic or product on only.
This provides a centralized area for Tweets specific only to that topic, group, or product. You can get really creative with this. When people look at it, instead of those important updates being spread out amongst a sea of other, irrelevant, Tweets, they can see updates on this specific topic, etc., only.
Consider adding a background that shows your websites, blogs, a bio, etc. And, maybe even think about including a list of the the authors, employees, group members, and their Twitter IDs.
Hopefully that gives you an idea of how useful a group page can be and the different things you can do with it.
